Michael Dauth ist deutsch-englischer Herkunft. Er begann sein Geigenstudium im Alter von 4 Jahren unter der Leitung seines Vaters.

Als 15-jähriger Stipendiat studierte er bei Franz Josef Maier und dem Amadeus-Quartett in Köln sowie bei Yfrah Neaman an der Guildhall School in London.
